Ayala Champagne:
Started in 1860, but recently reintroduced in the local marketplace, Ayala is now owned by Bollinger Group. Champagne Ayala is made in Äy, one of the 17 Grand Cru villages in the Champagne area. It differs from many other champagnes because of its crisp, Low– to Zero Dosage style. This is made possible by setting high standards at each step of the making-process use of the Cuvée only (first press), high quality of the grapes, precise control during the fermentation, long ageing in the cellars.
Ayala Brut Majeur is a delicate blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Meunier with only 8.5g/l of sugar! This Champagne is very aromatic on the nose and very clean on the palate with a great complexity.
Ayala Rosé Majeur NV is a result of a very original blend with 51% chardonnay and only 7.5g/l of sugar. This unusual proportion makes it incredibly crisp and delicate. It has a superb peach salmon color and has a bouquet of red fruits on the nose. Nice balance and generous finish on the palate.
Cave de Tain, wines from the Northern Rhone Valley:
The Northern Rhone valley is the birthplace of syrah, Cave de Tain is one of the specialists in the region.
The Syrah 2007 is made with 100% syrah grapes grown in the best “terroirs” of the Northern Rhône valley. It is pure with a great typicity, aromas of raspberry and dark berry fruits, with a hint of violets and spicy notes. It is an easy-drinking, flavorful wine, well-structured and excellent with cold meats, poultry, barbecues and summer picnics.
The Marsanne 2008 is made from 100% Marsanne grown on granite terraces in the Northern Rhône Valley. It is very aromatic, crisp and supple on the palate. Perfect as an aperitif and goes well with shellfish, grilled fish, cold buffets and light cheeses.
We are looking forward to seeing you at this event.

During Prohibition (1919-1933), New York City’s speakeasies were home to drinking, dancing and the swinging sounds of the city’s Jazz Age, and there were over 32,000 establishments. Today, the tradition lives on at the Museum of the City of New York. Be sure to put in an appearance. Or else. Spread the word – discreetly – and tell them Jerry sent you…

The Annual Champagne Tasting, New York
30 August 2010 , 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM
The Institute of Masters of Wine is pleased to invite you to the 2010 Annual Champagne Tasting in New York to be held at Christie’s Rockefeller Center premises. This event has always been among the premier wine tasting events of the year, held at the outset of the holiday season under optimal conditions in the heart of the best markets in the United States for champagne.
The tasting will feature a broad survey of champagne currently on the market from every category: non-vintage, vintage, rosé, blanc de blancs, prestige cuvée, and sweeter styles, including extra-sec, sec, demi-sec, and riche. Wines will be tasted from the most well-known and established houses along with exciting small growers, and will include many rare and difficult to procure bottlings.
In order to avoid the overcrowding the tasting willbe divided into two sessions, each will be limited to 300 attendees, including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, students of wine, key wine buyers in the retail and restaurant trade, and journalists. Tickets are $50.00 each and valid for one of the two sessions.
Book tickets for 1st Session - 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Book tickets for 2nd Session - 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm
Tickets for this event will be sold strictly on a first come, first served basis, and since the number of places is limited, we encourage you to respond promptly. In the event of any questions regarding this tasting, please do not hesitate to contact us by sending an email to charles@curtismw.com. Venue: Christie's 20 Rockefeller Plaza (49th Street) New York, NY 10020
